Yes, there are many more options that most of the students do not realise. Though students didn't clear the MHT-CET entrance exam, they can apply for BTech courses in Maharashtra JEE Main scores, which are accepted by both govt. and private colleges. There are many private and deemed universities also where direct admission is granted based on Class 12 marks or by conducting own entrance exam. There are also many colleges with admission under management quota, in which the students are selected based on academic record and personal interview rounds. This is one of the most debatable questions that exists in the minds of Maharashtra engineering aspirants. Govt colleges like COEP Pune, VJTI Mumbai, ICT Mumbai etc. are as good as the best in the country with strong academics, very cheap fees, best placements.

Private and autonomous colleges are equally good in terms of modern infrastructure and industry contacts, placements and sometimes even more than the government colleges. The answer depends upon your entrance exam cutoff, eligibility, desired location and specialisation.

 IIIT Trichy OBC cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for different BTech course specialisations. For this category, the round 1 cutoff varied from 9340 to 12540. As per this range, BTech CSE was the hardest course for admission, with the cutoff being 9340. On the other hand, BTech ECE was the least competitive course for enrollment.

Manipal University Jaipur provides a budget-friendly BTech option through its Computer Science and Bioscience stream. The total cost for this four-year programme is INR 22.69 Lakh. This is cheaper than standard software engineering tracks which cost over INR 26 Lakh.
