This is really a confused minds question. Generally, it happens when we study in B.Tech. Most of aspirants just pursue engineering like a B.A. Degree these days. First they complete engineering and start looking for option to secure a decent job. But my friend B.Tech itself is a complete degree which can provide you any opportunity. Lets think over your query, M.Tech or MBA, both are completely opposite. One takes you to specialised domain in your Technical subjects you studied in B.Tech and other onc can move you to completely different field which requires fresh understanding and knowledge over several business related stuff. M.Tech : If you want to pursue career in core fields like Electronics or Core branches Mech. Or Electrical where you go into depth knowledge of core systems and can choose between research/Teaching career or can pursue Jobs in PSU/giant (core), most of the jobs will be in Manufacturing/Production or designing stuffs. In short M.Tech gives you specialisation in particular segment inside a category of your Base branch on B.Tech. MBA: As name indicates, it is business related degree, which gives you specialised field to work upon. MBA generally requires more awareness of market, trends, your interpersonal skills, ready to deal with situations in dynamically changing economy. It also requires lots of commerce side knowledge. Generally most of the companies prefers candidates with some years of work experience to zero industry experience aspirants. Anyway you need to perform this management stuff in your career sooner or later. But Work experience. Is must. Now let me tell you important factor to pursue any of it, You need to ace entrance exams like GATE (M.Tech) or CAT/GMAT (MBA) to get into premier institutes, then only you can have better career prospects.
