An MBA specialisation can be done in a host of areas and each area has a separate career path and success in it depends a lot on your skills and personality traits. Yes, lots of engineering and arts background students give CAT exam every year. If your academic score is good, i.e. above 98 then you have great chances to get into IIMs.

Last year's final cutoff was 90% around. After that you have minimal score in graduation, 12th and 10th. If you have 99%ile then the interview round is just a formality.
