A typical time duration for a Diploma in Business and Management in Australia is around 1 to 1.5 years. These programs are specifically designed for students who don't have much experience in the professional industry and want to enhance their skills in the world of business management and leadership/ These programs are designed in such a way to provide foundational knowledge and practical skills in key business areas. The programs usually cover specializations like Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Business Communication, and Project Management. In some cases, these programs can also act as pathway programs, which means students can transition into the second year of a bachelor's degree after completing these diplomas.

International students willing to pursue a Diploma in business and management must meet certain eligibility criteria to be selected by the universities. Although some requirements can be specific to programs offered by universities, the following are some of the general requirements students need to take care of:

• Having a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent. (Generally, a 3-year bachelor's degree is accepted, but students must check the official website of their desired university to be sure.)
• Class 10th and 12th marks
• Academic transcripts
• Letters of recommendation or references
• Proof of English Language proficiency
• GMAT/GRE scores (not generally required but might help students to enhance their profile)
• A valid passport
• Photographs
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
• Work experience, if any

International students must apply for the Student Visa (subclass 500). Students can start the visa application process first by taking admission in a recognised university and Australia and receiving the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Students must show the proof of funds to cover tuition and cost of living expenses, travel expenses, which might go up to INR 14 L. per year. Students also need to submit certain documents, such as a valid passport, English language proficiency proof and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and a statement of purpose showing intent of study in Australia. Additionally, the student visa also allows students to work up to 48 hours per fortnight during study terms and full-time during holidays or semester breaks. The entire visa process may take up to 4 - 8 weeks.
