The CMAT 2027 registrations for admission to the MBA/PGDM/MMS courses might begin in October 2026. The exam will be conducted on Feb 7, 2027.
The CUET PG results are declared for admission to various PG-level courses. The counselling is conducted separately by each participating institution.
The OJEE 2026 Counselling process for admission to the BTech, MBA and MCA courses has concluded.
The ATMA 2026 test results for admission to the MBA/PGDM/MMS courses has been released.

CET BBSR Highlights 2026

Odisha University of Technology and Research, also known as CET BBSR, is located in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. Established in 1981, it is a public institute approved by AICTE and CoA. CET BBSR provides 54 UG and PG courses in 29 specialisations, namely Biotechnology Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), formerly known as College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bhubaneswar, is a public unitary technical university under the state government of Odisha. It was established by the Government of Odisha in 1981 to meet the growing technical manpower need in the state. Odisha University of Technology and Research (CET), Bhubaneswar review.

Placements: Overall, the college offers a good return on investment in terms of placement statistics. You can get some of the best placements in this college compared to other state government colleges. However, do not expect placements like those at NITs or IITs. The placement opportunities are far below that level. The median package is around 6–7 LPA, with more IT companies visiting the campus.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are not up to the mark yet. There are two girls' hostels, two old boys' hostels, and one very new boys' hostel. However, there is still a shortage of hostel accommodation for boys. Many male students have to face a lot of problems while staying outside the campus in rented homes, PGs, or mess facilities.

Faculty: The teaching methodology and curriculum are very old and not up to the mark. They are also not relevant to the industry. However, the student communities are active and somehow compensate for these problems. This is not a private college where faculty members are concerned about students' growth. Therefore, you have to make your own efforts.

College is very good, with good teachers, but avoid the hostel.

Placements: The placement data shows 95% or even 100% placements, but that is just a cover-up. Most students are recruited by mass recruiters. I am fairly positive that most are getting Rs. 15,000–Rs. 20,000 per month in cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad, so it is quite a struggle for them.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are not good. They ignore the hostels very much. The course infrastructure is fairly decent. The main issue with the hostel is the management. Before 2022, the management was very good, but now the new management mainly focuses on saving money by reducing quality in many areas.

Faculty: There are good faculty members here. Most of them have PhDs and are well-renowned in their field of expertise. However, some teachers here are highly unprofessional because of their cultural positions. They think they can even insult our parents. They are absolutely horrible in terms of management.

Other: The annual fest and the annual sports fest are very good.

I suggest that students don't join the college outside Bhubaneswar.

Placements: 50% of students have been placed so far. The placement scenario is pretty bad. Almost no MNCs have come to the college so far. Students are hopeless. They have started preparing for higher studies. Most of them are still looking for off-campus opportunities.

Infrastructure: It has poor quality infrastructure. There is no Wi-Fi. There are no proper facilities for students to study and focus properly. It needs a lot of changes. No one should opt for this college as their first choice. There's no future here. All we need to do is join VSSUT or IIIT with the same rank.

Faculty: Faculty members are not properly trained and lack practical knowledge. They only read from slides. There is no proper arrangement of labs and coding platforms. There are no proper learning opportunities in classes.

Decent for CSE with good placement scope in the outer but needs improvement.

Placements: Around 60-70 percent of students are placed from the CSE course, it actually depends upon market conditions. Overall, decent placement. I suggest that if you join this college you should work on your skills. The highest package is around 10 LPA-15 LPA, the lowest package is around 3 LPA-5 LPA, and the average is approximately 5 LPA-6 LPA for CSE. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc. Around 70 percent of students got internships in mostly companies like TCS, Wipro, etc. Top roles offered are SDE, system engineer, and web developer.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure for CSE are decent, classrooms are okay, and labs are available but need some improvement. Wi-Fi is really good. The library is good with enough books and study space. Hostel facilities are average, rooms are manageable but not very modern. Mess food is okay, sometimes good, sometimes not. Medical facilities are available but limited. Sports and games are not very well maintained.

Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful and qualified, some are really knowledgeable but teaching quality is average overall. The course curriculum is relevant, but it does not make you industry-ready, you need to learn extra skills by yourself. Semester exams are not difficult if you study properly. The pass percentage is quite high around 90-95 percent.

Other: I chose CSE because I have an interest in coding and good career opportunities in the IT field. The best thing about this course is the placement opportunities in the IT field. The best things about this course are placement opportunities and scope to grow if you work on your skills. Campus life is okay, there are some fests and events, but not very frequently. The crowd is decent. The connectivity is good as it is near BBSR.

Review of Odisha University of Technology and Research.

Placements: About 75-80 percent of students get placed. The placement statistics are good, and the remaining students opt for higher studies. The highest package offered is 17 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 4.5 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 5-6 LPA. Companies like Deloitte, Maruti Suzuki Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Coreal, Moschip, and JSW come for the recruitment process. Asian Paints has been showing keen interest in giving placements now. There is a mandatory seminar for an internship during summer break, and everyone is required to do an internship in a company or at least do research. Students got internships at IMFA, which offers a stipend. Some students have applied to ISRO, etc.

Infrastructure: Labs are good, and lack some facilities, as some computers are not working. Apart from this, everything is good. We have AC classrooms and smart rooms. The hostel is great. The food served in every hostel is comprehensive. However, the food is manageable. Rooms are a bit small for the accommodation of 3 people. Overall, rooms are good and well-maintained as workers come every day to clean. There is a dispensary, basketball court, badminton court, and a big field for football and cricket, along with table tennis. Overall, sports facilities are good.

Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, and some have the highest graduation rates in the country. Some teachers are from IISC, some from IIT, while others are from NIT. The course curriculum is relevant and to the point, and placement-focused. Students are taught everything required for the industry. Semester exams are cool and not very difficult, though the level is high sometimes. The pass percentage is around 80-90 percent since most rankholders come to this college.

Good hospitality and a good surrounding college.

Placements: Our college is a government engineering college. It provides good on-campus placement of 50 to 70 percent students per year at a good package of 5 to 15 LPA. Our college also provides internship to every semester students. In our stream, many mechanical companies like Tata, Jindal, Aditya Birla, etc., hire students from our college.

Infrastructure: Our hostel facility is very good, and the quality of the food is also good. Our college authority provides good classrooms, a well-stocked library, and 24/7 high-speed Wi-Fi to all departments. In our college, various labs are available for research. Medical facilities are also available.

Faculty: Our faculty are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful to us at the time of examination and study. In our college, 2 semesters are held in a year. The semester exam is very hard. The pass percentage of our college students is 85 to 90 percent per year.

Other: Our college provides scholarship to helpless students. In our college, all staff are very helpful.

CET Biju Patnaik University of Technology offers a couple of state-sponsored scholarships. One of the College of Engineering and Technology, Biju Patnaik University of Technology Scholarship is listed below:

Medhabruti Scholarship: This scholarship is given by the government of Odisha to all those candidates who belong to Odisha only. Candidate must have secured a minimum of 60 per cent aggregate in Class 12. The merit list will be based on the rank secured in the entrance examination only in respect of prestigious national-level government colleges. The candidate should not receive any other scholarship and combined parental income should be less than INR 6 lakh per annum
Merit Scholarship: This scholarships is offered to meritorious students on the basis of their academic scores.

OUTR Merit scholarship:

Computing Facilities: The College has more than 300 computers out of which there exists a Central Computing facility having 128 Computers with Linux/ Windows LAN connectivity through Servers. Software as per University course curriculum like C/C++, Java, Matlab and databases like Oracle, Rational Rose exists. The college has Internet connectivity from BSNL of 10Mbps (1:1) leased line with Fibre Optic End point connectivity, 10 Mbps connectivity through NMEICT and 100 Mbps connectivity through NKN.
