The course gives an overview of research including the philosophy of research. The course also covers stages of research, ethical considerations in research, quality of Journals, citations, indexing, and intellectual property rights including research ethics. The course is about discretion about IPR including patents, copyrights, design registration, and their filing, publishing, and granting. This will describe the types of research, various terminologies used during the research, and the design of the research. This course will also give brief information about various intellectual property rights. The course covers different ways of writing and presentation of research including a research paper, research proposal, State of Art Seminar, etc. Applicants who qualify UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE/ GPAT score card/ ICAR (NET), SPM, Teacher Fellowship holder or passed M.Phil. (in regular mode only) are exempted from LPUNEST (Ph.D. ) entrance test (GATE/ GPAT score should be valid at the time of admission). The final selection for admission in Ph.D. is based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the Interview. However, if anyone is exempted from the LPUNEST (Ph.D. ) entrance test instead of the above-mentioned tests, then 100% weightage will be given to the Interview only. Unless otherwise specified by the University, the medium of instruction, course work, examination, question paper, synopsis, and the thesis will be English in all cases. Highlights
