There is not much difference between the salaries earned by both the professionals. It is because both the majors have their distinct strategic importance for the growth and sustainability of the organisation. Although, the global data shows that MBA in Finance is more preferred by the students, whereas marketing major has its own merits. Go for best B- schools. The best B-schools are:

You can learn basic knowledge from everything. You can either learn HR, marketing or finance. Instead of just taking up a certain stream right from the first semester itself and basically job opportunities are equivalent for everyone. Be it general MBA or normal MBA there are many colleges available for MBA. For e. g. PUMBA, Pune. Its cutoff is above 98 %ile and is generally considered to be the most sought after institute after JBIMS, Mumbai and Symbosis. It has the best placement record in terms of marketing and finance. For HR specialisation we have SCMHRD, Hinjewadi.

It is purely based on your area of interest. If you want to continue and enhance your technical skills and knowledge, then M.Sc. Is a good option. If you are inclined to learn the management, then MBA is best suited for you. MBA in biotechnology fields also have a very bright scope, like in pharmaceutical, agriculture, horticulture and many more.

A student from Science background can study MBA. The course in more about management. Science students find it a little hard due to lack of accounts knowledge but with hard work anyone can overcome problems. Since you have technical skills I will advise you to go for MBA because management knowledge will add a star to your resume. Rest depends on what kind of job you prefer.

B.Tech, if you are interested in Higher Studies or research in the same stream, then you may go for M.Tech. Else, MBA would be a good option. You should have 55% in B.Tech/BE and a valid score of GATE. I am enlisting a few good colleges for M.Tech : IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, DTU, IIT Varanasi, IIT Dhanbad, NIT Surathkal, NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, Punjab, College of Engineering, Anna University, DTU, VIT, BITS, IIIT Hyderabad, IIEST Howrah, College of Engineering Pune, Jadavpur University, IIIT Allahabad, Anna University. Both the courses are good. It depends on your area of interest. If you go with M.Tech, then it will be completely technical field and growth is good in this field. If you choose MBA, then your field will change to management and career would be related to IT analyst. MBA is more useful after gaining some work experience.
