GIBS considers exam scores as an indication of a candidate's suitability for an MBA program, while GIBS also evaluates applicants' overall scores (percentile scores) rather than section cut-offs. Applicants who achieve the minimum cut-off (60–65 percentile) will be invited to participate in the next round of selection processes. The exam scores will serve as an initial screen to allow GIBS to assess the academic readiness of its MBA applicants for management studies and to provide a basis for a candidate's assessment via a combination of other assessment methods (group discussion, personal interview, and written assessment). By utilising all three methods of assessment, GIBS can evaluate the candidates' ability to communicate effectively, their levels of self-confidence, analytical capabilities, and motivation. The final selection of students will be made based on a comprehensive assessment of various elements which includes exam scores, academic performance and performance evaluations.

GIBS' PGDM programme offers numerous specializations to assist individuals in customizing their studies based on their professional aspirations. Core specializations offered through the Programme include, but are not limited to: 1) Marketing; 2) Finance; 3) Human Resource Management; 4) International Business; 5) Operations; and 6) Entrepreneurship. In addition to a chosen core specialization, the following elective options are available: Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Retail Management, Supply Chain, and Leadership Development. The combination of a chosen core specialisation and electives provides students with a well-rounded and diverse skillset that prepares them for success upon graduation. This flexible approach provides students with opportunities to develop both depth in their area of expertise as well as exposure to the types of emerging industries that are becoming increasingly important within the current business environment.

GIBS has made learning more hands on and interactive by incorporating reading materials and presentations into the syllabus. Classroom discussion is enhanced through the use of readings prior to class, such as case studies, research articles, and industry reports. Readings may foster critical thinking about the subject matter and help prepare students to participate in class discussion and debate. Coming into class equipped with a base level of understanding allows students to ask informed questions and/or discuss more complex concepts in depth.

Presentations are also an important aspect of the learning process. Every week, students are asked to present their findings from assigned readings, group projects, and/or individual assignments. This practice helps build confidence in presenting as well as developing skills necessary to convey or clarify complex ideas to diverse audiences. In addition, instructors at GIBS work with students in collaborative presentations, which simulate real world situations involving problem solving and proposing solutions.

Through the integration of reading materials and presentations, GIBS has established a culture where learning is not just passive listening to a lecture, but rather, students actively participate in the classroom to build skills that will enable them to succeed in future careers. The learning atmosphere also closely parallels the work environment where employers expect their employees to prepare and clearly communicate their ideas for long term success.

As part of the GIBS admission process, candidates who have taken an admissions test (such as the CAT or MAT) must include that information in their application. This includes registering online for the GIBS application process. Candidates are required to provide basic information regarding their academic history, personal information, as well as any results achieved from any admissions tests taken. 

To finish your online application, you will be asked to enter your CAT|MAT registration number; therefore, it's very important that you know what your registration number is prior to filling out your application. As soon as you finish entering all required information, you'll upload a scanned copy of the test scorecard as proof of taking the CAT or MAT. 

Once an application has been submitted, an admissions representative will review the information included, verify the submitted documentation, and make selections based on the applicant's performance on the CAT or MAT and based upon other selection criteria (such as educational background and other qualifications). 

Finally, based on the applicant's performance on the CAT or MAT as well as their performance in the selection process, an applicant may receive an offer of admission to GIBS. While submitting either of these exams is a way to show one's level of preparedness for attending a business school, it is not the sole consideration for selection into the institution.
