Students who complete their programmes in distance learning mode are not eligible for a post study work permit in Canada. If you have completed more than 50% of your course by distance learning, you will not be eligible for a post graduate work permit in Canada.
However, if your course has a distance learning component, which is less than 50% of the total course duration/ credits, then you may be eligible for a PGWP Canada.

No, a 4.5 IELTS score is generally not considered good for study in Canada. Most programs in Canadian universities require higher scores, generally starting from 6.0 for immigration and 5.5 for student visas.

An IELTS score of 5.0 is generally not accepted for most universities in Canada. However, some programs under the Express Entry system, like the Federal Skilled Trades Program, require a minimum CLB 5 for speaking and listening and CLB 4 for reading and writing, which is equivalent to an IELTS score of around 5.0 in those sections. For student visas, a minimum of 5.5 in each band is generally required.

Yes! You can study engineering in Canada even with a 4-year study gap after high school (+2). However, you'll need to meet the university's admission eligibility and provide a valid reason for the gap, such as work experience or additional courses. Many colleges and universities in Canada accept study gaps if properly explained.
