The salary question can be answered in two ways-
Earning through projects that the screenwriter gets and does, the second way is getting hired by some production house and then earn a good amount. If you have the passion, and the staying power, you can do it. Some simple steps that one can follow to make a career in the advertising sector. But before the steps, I would advise you to pursue a degree related to advertising and if not advertising, I would ask you to pursue a degree in mass communication as advertising is an extended sector related to mass communication.

If I say I'm a writer people ask about books, and while I'm working on one I haven't been published yet so I am hardly an expert. If I say I'm a journalist, people ask on what channel I appear.
