You need to complete your 12th also to think ahead about a bright future. To do a Bachelor's degree, you need a minimum qualification of 12th, I would suggest you to complete 12th and then think about the right stream you want to sustain in.

Hi Mehul, The conventional way is to go for Bachelors in physics, followed by a Masters and a PhD in physics. But some people (including me) are doing PhD after a Bachelors in engineering. One needs very good understanding of physics and maths as a prerequisite. In the meanwhile, many leading research institutes like IUCAA, Pune organize short term Schools in astrophysics for school students, which should be used by you to get a deeper glimpse of this field.

Since you have already completed your B.Tech in ME you can now directly apply for a job in the merchant navy. Candidates who have finished the basic course in merchant navy can get jobs very easily through various consultants and placement agencies. Merchant navy fleet consist of cargo ships, container ships, barge carrying ships, tankers, bulk carriers, refrigerators ships, passenger ships, as well as roll off/roll on ships. The possibility of finding employment in cargo ships is more as compared to the others. Regards.
