Firstly, do not get worried. Engineering is not the end of the world. In fact unemployment amongst is highest. It's a blessing that you could not clear JEE Mains. Now, select a stream that excited you. Commerce, fine arts, etc. Do graduation and PG. You will never regret.

Best can differ from candidate to candidate. What can be best for me may not be the best for you. Therefore it is very important that you know your interests and career plans. You should know your areas of strengths. Engineering is supposedly the best however if you don't have the knack for quants it's not a good field for you. To suggest you better options we need to understand your profile.
