The network engineer's role and responsibilities includes ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services.
To achieve above mentioned role major component of daily routine includes following major activities:
a) Monitoring of organization all network resources and ensure its operations as per defined SLA. This may require remote monitoring even after working hours and responding to priority calls.
b) Identify failure of networking elements and immediate corrective action to diagnose and correct causes of failed elements.
c) Configuration and reconfiguration of network elements as per design.
d) Network elements installations as per design.
e) Participate in optimizations in network elements.
f) Participating in planning, designing and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
g) Regular software upgrade.
h) Conduct end user training.
i) Interaction and coordinating with computing resources administrators.
j) Participate in special projects.
