With a B.Sc in Chemistry under your belt you could consider options ranging from Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical research and IT to management, Media, Academics, Social Work and Law, to name a few. Any of the choices listed above will require a post graduate degree in that area like a M Sc for Biotech, an MBA for Management or a Mass Comm. degree for Media.
The pharmaceutical industries where genetically engineered drugs are developed and manufactured also look forward to employing biochemists. Research related agricultural industries also absorb individuals with background in chemistry. Depending on your specialization, options will be available both in the pharma sector as well as research and development.
However, we recommend that you work for a couple of years before pursuing post-graduation.
Some work experience will help you know your strengths and areas of interest better so you will make a more informed choice for your post graduate studies. Work experience will also help you perform better in admission interviews for postgraduate institutes in any area.
