The Training and Placement Unit of the Institute is responsible for providing world class job opportunities to the undergraduate and postgraduate students after graduation for suitable jobs in the industry and various private and public sector organizations.
No institute can guarantee you placements. It's just purely based on how you utilize your abilities and skills at the right time. I would suggest you to contact the training and placement department personally for accurate numbers.
Salary is a function of various factors - i.e. (i) the institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. e.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary. (ii) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile (iii) city - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns. (iv) Your current organization - i.e. where you will be joining - an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations. A comparison between the two courses would not be easy. A general preference is an engineering degree. B Tech is a professional qualification of 4 years duration comprising of eight semesters. If are confident that you can handle the pressures of a four year B Tech Programme, then your choice will not be bad, Pay and Perks as well as employability seem to be on the rise for B Tech graduates through campus placements and alternatives with industrial trends showing acceleration of growth around the globe. To secure admission for a regular B Tech Programme you may have to clear state/national level aptitude tests with a good score. But that does not mean that B Sc graduates are not placed. Higher education opportunities for B Sc graduates include M Sc, MBA and B Tech through lateral entry in some states like Tamilnadu.
