It is difficult but not impossible. If you give yourself a good enough time to improve English comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, you will be able to do it. Yes, a non- English medium student will require longer time for CAT preparation as they will have to start reading and improving English comprehension. So, may be they need to start English preparation for CAT in the second year of graduation, instead of final year (much earlier than English medium students). They may also need two attempts to crack CAT with high percentile. But that's not true for all. If you work hard and study smartly, you will be able to crack it.

Yes, it is possible to score 99.99 percentile in CAT in first attempt. Many toppers of previous years' are such candidates. One must study in a focussed manner and do a lot of mock test practice. Exam day strategy is also crucial for better performance.

Although 6.5 is not poor, it is mediocre enough to get you a call from IIM for admisisons. If you clear the CAT exam and do well in the personal interview phase, you can get into the top IIMs, regardless of your CGPA. Since most management universities accept applicants with a 6.5 CGPA, you shouldn't worry about your score.

In 2023, the CAT slot 3 was tougher than slot 1 and slot 2. In all the three slots, the Quantitative Aptitude section was tougher than VARC and DILR. The overall CAT score cutoff for a 99+ percentile is expected to range around 82-83, as per the experts.CAT 2023 slot 3 was tougher than CAT 2022 and CAT 2023 slot 1. The Quantitative Aptitude (QA) section in slot 3 was harder than in slot 1. Here's a breakdown: In the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section, slot 3 was tougher than slots 1 and 2, but still easier than CAT 2022.
