CAT selection is based upon profile so if you have a good profile (certification courses, work experience, academic achievements, you will definitely get a call from good colleges including Iims and IITs). 10th and 12th marks are also major contributing factors to these calls.

You can do BBA before appearing for CAT because BBA is the course in which you can get every information and knowledge about various subjects, it is not only 2,3 subject based course, it has several subjects.

To cover from basics for CAT after years of gap is not at all easy or hard you just have to prepare and study, just make a proper routine and follow it on a daily basis, it will help a lot.

Basically top colleges SEE the score of CAT exams, according to that basic you get admission in the top colleges in India CMAT is also good, but I suggest you that focus on CAT exam.

DI and LR section has been the lowest scoring section in CAT. The score required for a 99 percentile in this section is around 45/46 (2018/19 CAT), while the other two sections require marks above 65. An additional 8 to 10 questions have to answered in the other two sections. Only the top 1% in the country manage to go beyond 16 questions (or four sets). Hence if you can attempt four sets in the one hour, you could land above the 40 marks (98 percentile). Choosing the right sets to solve becomes the key.
