90th percentile is not that difficult a target to achieve. Based on last year's paper, if a student had attempted 25 questions in Verbal, 12 in DILR and 20 in Quant, he/she would have scored 90th percentile in each. With good preparation of fundamentals and rigorous practice, this is a very achievable target. I am going to jot down a few critical things to keep in mind while preparing. Prepare from basics, no fancy shortcuts and gimmicks.

You will have to score more than 99.6% to get admission in IIMs. IIM-A is a top choice for management and it is not easy to get. So better aim for the highest possible marks.

Hi Akshay,
I believe, you should go with PGP, the regular programme at IIM. Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM) and Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPPM) will be too specific for you. And Fellow Programme in Management FPM is the doctoral programme.

Most of the prestigious colleges in India take admission on the basis of CAT, XAT and other entrance exams. So, you have to qualify them if you want a good college.

Exams like MAT and CAT are for admission in management school. There are several institutes, which accept both. CAT is difficult as compared to MAT. MAT is the easier version. Course wise, there is no difference in the syllabus of two, only the level of questions are different. Questions in CAT are much difficult from those of MAT. CAT is conducted once every year and MAT is conducted four times in a year.

CAT and XAT are very similar on some notes but very different on other notes. Similarity:
Quant and Verbal Section
The quant and verbal section of both CAT and XAT have the same chapters and more or less, test the candidate on similar lines. In the verbal section also, both the exams are filled with RCs which check the candidates reading and analytical skills. Difference :
Difficulty & Number of Questions
CAT will have a total of 100 questions visa vis 72 questions of XAT. Since, the number of questions are less within the same time frame, XAT. Difficulty level goes up. Replacing LR-DI with DM
The biggest difference. XAT has a section calle
