Apart from CAT, you can give other entrance exams like NMAT, SNAP, CMAT, CET, MAT which are of lower difficulty level as compared to CAT and XAT. And with thorough preparation of 4-6 months, even an average student can score well in these exams. Good luck!

Hello Deepak,
Yes, there are many other top colleges which you can aim without giving CAT. Some of them are as follows, with the respective exams mentioned alongside:-
1. XLRI, SP JaIn - XAT
2. NMIMS Mumbai - NMAT
3. SIBM, SCMHRD Pune - SNAP
4. JBIMS - MBA CET
5. IIFT(Kolkata and New Delhi campuses) - IIFT
6. Great Lakes, Sydenham - CMAT
So, there is no compulsion in giving CAT as there are so many other good colleges too.

There is no rule which debar you from appearing in Civil Services Examination and CAT simultaneously. Both are highly competitive and their syllabus for not overlap. If you have the will and self motivation to prepare for both examinations simultaneously, you may go ahead with your plan.

CAT is an aptitude exam, and requires that you are able to apply your mind to solve the questions. It is not hard because of the exam itself (which I feel is way easier than all the Engineering and Medical Entrance examinations) rather it is because of the competition. Hence, you will need to put in as much effort as you can to be ahead of others to get a seat in the IIMs
I believe enrolling into a correspondence process will help you kickstart and plan your preparations well. But that is just my opinion. A quick google search will throw a lot more ideas and plans, that you can look at and follow.

Sorry for the late reply.
You can get admission through CAT, but here first preference is given to CMAT. My suggestion is that once you should go to the college or you can call and inquire about the same.

Hello Sagar! In graduation, you need to score at least 50% aggregate marks. To get into a top college for MBA in Finance, aim a score of 99+ percentile in CAT. Having work experience is not compulsory, but it's advised you work for around 2 years(if you get a good job). Top colleges for MBA in Finance:-
IIMs - Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Lucknow
JBIMS, NMIMS, SP Jain, Sydenham - Mumbai
MDI - Gurgaon
FMS - New Delhi

Yes, definitely. If you have completed your B.Tech or you are in the final year of graduation and have appeared for CAT examination, then you can certainly apply for Institute of Management Studies(Faulty of Management Studies), Banaras Hindu University.
