To my knowledge perhaps except for TN, no other state admits students to engineering based on marks of 12th. Hence your 83% are in a sense irrelevant. You should have given CET of your state.

You should be in either a top percentile of your board or have 75% in board whichever is less to be eligible for admission in NITs. All the best.
