Options are many, but which course is best for you is something you have to decide on your own. Know your own aptitude and interest. If I give you a course suggestion it may not be the perfect choice for you so always follow your own interest. Journalism, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, Literature, Film and Media Studies, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Education and Teaching, etc., the list is unending. Choose a subject relevant to your academic background and subjects you already had in class 12th.

If he is really interested in that course, then he can go for B.Com and apply for banking exams available on NET. With every exam he cracks, he gets a better position.

The scores of the HSC and SSC are considered for IIM-Bangalore and few others. But IIM-Ahmedabad, Calcutta, etc., give the admission on the basis of the CAT score.
