Hello there,
Typically, you will require it during the visa process. During the university application they only ask for transcripts, etc. and not the school leaving certificate.

These days, Photography is fast emerging as a popular career choice among all the age groups. Photography is both a science and an art. It is an artistic means of expression, the camera replacing the pen or the paintbrush. These days, lots of schools offer photography at the 10+2 stage as a vocational subject. There are no specific academic requirements for the full time courses in photography; however, candidates who have cleared the 10+2 exam are eligible for the diploma/ certificate courses in photography. No, University or College commonly asks for such a certificate. So there must not be any need to. Make and send one such certificate. Besides, you can only make an affidavit or a verification certificate that your are in General caste. Actual purpose of a Caste Certificate is to claim Reservation.
