CUSAT Highlights 2026
Cochin University of Science and Technology is also known as CUSAT and was established in 1971. It is located in Thrikkakara,Kochi and was initially established as the University of Cochin. However, later it was re-constituted as CUSAT in 1986. The university has been accredited by NAAC with an A grade and is recognised by the UGC. It is approved by the AICTE and has been ranked 509 by the QS World University Rankings 2026 in the 'Asia' category.
The university has also ranked 1001 by the Times Higher Education ranking 2026 in the 'Overall' category. Aspirants need to fill out the online form (admission.cusat.ac.in) and submit it for being eligible to take admission. However, the seat allotment for each M.Tech programme shall be on the applicant’s GATE score. CAT is one of the accepting exams for CUSAT MBA admission. There are two types of CAT accepted for MBA. One is CAT conducted by conducted by IIM for admission to MBA programme. The other is CUSAT CAT conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology. CUSAT CAT is accepted for MBA and other courses except PhD and Diploma programmes. CUSAT admission to Integrated BSc-MSc programme is based on CUSAT CAT score. CUSAT CAT or Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test is a computer-based test conducted for shortlisting aspirants for admission to various courses. After completion of selection rounds, CUSAT releases a rank list based on total marks secured in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry subjects.
