CUSAT is an autonomous university owned by the state government. CUSAT has been ranked 34 among the top Universities in India and 51 in the Overall category by NIRF 2024. Cochin University of Science and Technology Kochi is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). CUSAT courses include 24 Undergraduate (UG), 55 Postgraduate (PG) and 9 MPhil and 28 PhD programmes in various streams. Yes. The Non-GATE entrants can take admission with a valid Department Admission Test (DAT) score or ‘A and B’ exams score conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India). Candidates can apply for the DAT exam by visiting the CUSAT website.

The CUSAT KEAM 2025 was released for admission to the BTech programme for various categories under the Home State quota. According to the CUSAT BTech Cutoff 2025, the last round closing cutoff ranged from 10038 to 66316 for the General HS quota. Among all the specialisation, the top two most sough-after specialisations were BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, followed by BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. CUSAT has consistently remained one of the top-ranked public universities in the state of Kerala, with a ranking of #51 in the overall category. The university is also put in the 10th place for state universities category. Students can choose from a host of courses like BTech, MTech, MBA, etc. in different specializations.

Candidates while applying for CUSAT Integrated BSc-MSc programme, need to pay an application fee. There is a concession in the registration fee for SC/ ST candidates belonging to Kerala. Below is the application fee:

The total tuition fee for BTech in CSE at CUSAT is INR 3.61 lakh. CUSAT CAT is used for BTech course admission. The primary requirements for admission to the BTech Computer Science programme are a Class 12 certificate and an overall percentage of 50% in PCM and 50% in Mathematics. While SEBC students from Kerala State (non-creamy layer category) are entitled toa 5% relaxation in qualifying exam scores, the Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) populations simply need pass marks.

Aspirants who have passed BCA/ Bachelor's degree in CS/ BSc/ BCom/ BA/ BVoc Data Analytics with Mathematics with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate to Kerala SC/ ST) are eligible to apply for MCA at Cochin University of Science and Technology. Candidates should have relevant documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission.

The CUSAT BTech Cutoff 2025 was out for all the students belonging to the Home State quota. As per the CUSAT KEAM Cutoff 2025 for the OBC HS category, the closing cutoff ranged from 11609 to 54552, wherein B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most sought-after course with the closing cutoff being 11609 in the last round. On the other hand, the least popular course was B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, with 54552 being the last round closing cutoff 2025.  Students can refer to the table below to know the cutoff for the first and last round for the OBC HS quota candidates.

CUSAT offers M.Tech in full-time and part-time modes. The full-time course is of two-year duration with four semesters and the M.Tech part-time course is of three years with six semesters. The PG-course is available in 16 specialisations. Admission to the M.Tech courses at Cochin University is entrance-based.

The CUSAT placement report for the Class of 2024 is yet to be released on the official website. However, the media reports have covered the CUSAT placement details for Class of 2024. According to the reports, the the highest and average packages offered so far during CUSAT placement 2024 stood at INR 25 LPA and INR 7.32 LPA,  respectively. Further, the participating recruiters offered over 700 job offers to various courses of the batch 2024. The top recruiters of CUSAT placement in 2024 included ISCO, TCS, Accenture, Air India, IBM, MRF, Ernst & Young, Hyundai, Visteon, Alstom, Zifo, SAP, Reliance Industries, IOCL, Gail,  etc..

The CUSAT DAT Cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to the M.Tech programmes. The CUSAT Cutoff 2025 for admission to the M.Tech courses via the DAT exam for the General HS category ranged from 3 to 12 as per the last round cutoff score. Among all the specialisations, M.Tech in Industrial Safety (Health, Safety and Environment Management) was the most sought-after course for the previous mentioned category. The Cochin University of Science and Technology released the CUSAT CAT 2024 exam date on its official website. The exam authority conducted the CUSAT CAT 2024 exam in online mode. CUSAT CAT 2024 was conducted on May 10, 11, & 12, 2024. The CUSAT CAT exam date 2024 consists of application dates, exam date, admit card date, result date, and counselling dates.

Yes, CUSAT considers Class 12 score for admission to UG courses. Aspirants need to qualify a minimum of Class 12 to apply for a UG course at CUSAT. Below are some of the CUSAT UG programme along with their Class 12 requirement:

Candidates need to complete Class 12 or equivalent with at least 65% aggregate with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the Subjects to apply for BVoc at Cochin University of Science and Technology. There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate for SC/ ST candidates belonging to Kerala. Hence, candidates can apply for BVoc with 65% in Class 12. However, they also need to pass CUSAT CAT for admission to BVoc programme.

Aspirants need to fill out the online form (admission.cusat.ac.in) and submit it for being eligible to take admission. However, the seat allotment for each M.Tech programme shall be on the applicant’s GATE score. Candidates without a GATE exam score can take CUSAT DAT/ Sections A and B exam by the Institution of Engineers (India).
