Chandigarh University (CU)

Everyone has mixed reviews, so don't just go by what you see online. I would like to clarify that Chandigarh University does not offers B.Tech in CSE, it offers B.E. in CSE, which is way better. It has accreditations from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). This means the degree is valued not just in India but all over the world. The dept has advanced labs like the Microsoft Innovation Centre, IBM Software Lab and Virtusa Robotics & Automation Center. Students get to work on real-time projects and learn through workshops, seminars and expert sessions. Learning never stops here. Placements are next level. The university is known as North India's placement hub for a reason.

Civil Engineering at Chandigarh University is built in a very practical way. The course is made to help students understand how things are designed, built, and managed in real life. The syllabus starts with basic subjects like Mathematics, Physics for Engineers, Chemistry, and Fundamentals of Computer Programming. Students also study Engineering Graphics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Communication Skills.

As the course moves ahead, it includes core civil topics like Mechanics of Fluid, Concrete Technology, Structural Analysis, and Surveying and Geomatics. There are also labs like Fluid Mechanics Lab and Structure Mechanics Lab for practical learning. In later semesters, students learn Transportation Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Design of Steel and Concrete Structures. The syllabus also adds Entrepreneurship, Ethics, and Professional Practice to make students ready for industry work.

The Civil Engineering syllabus at Chandigarh University covers both theory and real field work. The programme begins with subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering Science. Students also learn Computer Programming, Engineering Graphics, and Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the early semesters.

Later, it moves into main civil subjects such as Building and Fast Track Construction, Fluid Mechanics, Civil Engineering Mechanics, and Concrete Technology. The syllabus includes lab work like Surveying and Geomatics Lab, Transportation Lab, and Environmental Engineering Lab to give students practical experience. It also focuses on Hydrology, Irrigation Engineering, and Professional Construction Management. Along with this, courses like Soft Skills, Communication, and Entrepreneurship are added to build personality and management skills. The syllabus is structured to give balanced knowledge of design, fieldwork, and sustainability.

Chandigarh University has seen strong placements for its CSE students with Robotics and AI specialisation. The course connects both software and automation fields, which opens more job options. Students get placed in big IT firms, research companies, and technology startups. Companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Infosys, and SAP Labs often recruit from the university. Many students also get training and internship offers that later turn into full-time jobs. The placement drive includes both national and international companies offering competitive packages. CU provides dedicated placement training, coding tests, and mock interviews which help students get ready for top recruiters. 

I have not heard any cons about the CSE programme at Chandigarh University. I have only heard about the pros and some of them are:

• The engineering department offers different courses like CSE and CSE with specializations. Students can choose elective subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things. 

• The university has soo modern campus, big buildings, labs and library. There are special research centers and tie-ups with big companies. 

• The department has top-class labs like the Microsoft Innovation Centre, IBM Software Lab, Virtusa Robotics & Automation Center, and HP Center of Excellence. 

• Hackathons, tech clubs, and live projects also happen regularly

• The department ensures 100% placements 

In the CSE (Hons.) programme at Chandigarh University, the academic schedule is carefully planned to combine rigrous learning with personal flexibility. The programme has around 160 credits including lectures, lab lessions, and projects. Typically students attend five to six classes a day which also includes practical sessions in specialised labs such as IBM software lab for emerging technologies, Microsoft lab, or red hat lab. Despite the structured schedule, students get free time in the evenings and on weekends. The balance between academics and free time helps students focus on skill enhancement without feeling overoaded. Since the university encourages participation in clubs, cultural events, and seminars, students experience both academic depth and a vibrant campus life. So, while the programme is demanding it also ensures students have time for growth beyond classroom learning.

Chandigarh University has an environment that is well-facilitated and inventive for students working in Fine Arts. The Fine Arts department has ample studio space for painting, sculpture, and design, as well as easy access to digital labs for photography and video editing. The students are able to develop their own creative processes grounded in traditional and contemporary art forms, all with an emphasis on practical support. The campus is equipped with exhibition space, workshops, and materials that facilitate experimentation. Faculty members work with students through practical projects and interdisciplinary collaboration. The general environment is conducive to working towards artistic expression and professional development, with contemporary facilities, and a vivacious campus culture, fine arts students have varied opportunities to build on their skills.
