The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for CARE course admission depends on the level of the course selected. For undergraduate course the basic eligibility criteria is class 12 in relevant stream and for PG courses, graduation in relevant subject is required. To get admission into the courses offered at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education, students must ensure that they satisfy the admission criteria of the desired course before proceeding any further. The Chettinad Academy of Research and Education admission for all courses is merit-based for most of the programmes. Admission to Chettinal college of Hospital and Research Institute and School of Architecture is entrance-based. Both constituent schools accept relevant national level entrance exams such as NEET and JEE to shortlist candidates for admission. 

The CARE School of Architecture also conducts Chettinad Entrance Aptitude Test (CEAT) to shortlist candidates for BArch admissions.
