Indian Governments both at centre & states are spening a large portion of thier budget for Infrastructure building. This has created lots of career opportunities for civil engineers. This trend will continue for some more time.

With Government moving out of major industries, diluting its equity in PSUs and encouraging privatization, jobs in Government sector will start reducing in time to come. Also current government has a large focus on Infrastructure Development in PPP model. Therefore, you must not shut your options of civil engineering jobs in private sector. It is recommended that you join private firm to start your civil engineering career. You can appear for PSU PO entrance exam to increase your probability of getting a Government job ( By the Government is also for going ahead with its plan of privatization of public sector bank.)
