However, for preparation, coaching notes, current affairs, daily newspapers and other ideal books for UPSC is a boost for the preparation. Current affairs are very important. In this year's UPSC Prelims, more than 40 questions came from current affairs and also around 20 from ancient history and medieval.

You need a graduation degree to appear for IAS exams and if you are sure that you want to pursue IAS only, then I think you should go for the course of UPES, which is BA in public policy and administration. This university, along with this graduation degree provides classes for IAS preparation.
So, you can consider this course in case IAS is the only motive.
