The Union Public Service Commission provides a list of gadgets/things which are prohibited at the IAS examination centre. The candidates will be required to read the exam day instructions released by the Commission along with the UPSC admit card. Below we are providing the list of gadgets which are prohibited at the UPSC exam centre: Mobile Phone Smart Watches Bluetooth devices of any kind Electronic Writing Pad Calculator of any type and in any form Log-table Electronic/smart eyewear The candidates should have no connection with the outer world once he or she enters the examination centre.

Yes, you can download the IAS admit card again from the official website. There is no restriction on downloading the IAS admit card from the official website. The candidates can do so any number of times till the IAS exam date. The candidates will be required to carry one photo identity proof with them to the examination centre. The type and number of such identity cards were asked in the IAS application form. The candidates are required to carry the same identity card as mentioned on their admit card.

The candidates should note that the candidates can be frisked at the IAS examination centre in case of any doubt. There are instructions for the exam day but it does not mention much about the dress code.

 The candidates will not be allowed to carry any digital gadget into the examination hall. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, headphones, and smart watches are banned at the examination centre.

The candidates should take the colour printout of the IAS admit card to present the clear picture of theirs. The candidates can take the black and white print out too but in case of blurry photograph, the candidates can suffer at the examination centre while comparing the face of the candidate with the scanned image shown in the admit card. The coloured printout will help the candidates to gain the entry at the examination centre easily.

The candidates can download the IAS admit card in case they lost it. Even on the day of exam, the candidates can appear in the first paper and show their IAS admit card in the second shift. The candidates will be require to sign an undertaking that they will produce the IAS admit card in the second shift. The UPSC admit card will be available till the exam day for downloading purpose. The candidates should take two copies of the UPSC admit card to produce another copy in such cases.

IAS admit card is the authorisation letter required to secure entry to the examination centre. The candidates cannot appear for the IAS exam without the IAS admit card. The IAS admit card is available online so the candidates can download their admit card anytime and anywhere. The examination authority will not allow the candidates (without admit card) to enter the examination centre.

The UPSC releases the admit card of the exam three weeks before the date of exam. But after the COVID pandemic, UPSC was working proactively and issuing the admit card well before the expected date. IAS 2023 exam was conducted on May 28 and as per the official timeline, the UPSC released the UPSC IAS admit card 2023 on May 1.

No, the UPSC 2023 applications were closed on February 21. The candidates can make corrections in their UPSC 2023 applications till February 28. Union Public Service Commission UPSC released the CSE 2023 notification on February 1, 2023, and the UPSC 2023 applications were started with the release of the notification.

Yes, the Group A WBCS officers can be promoted to IAS. Every state has their quota of promotion every year. The 33 per cent of the total IAS positions in the state are filled through the promotions from the State PCS officers which is WBCS is West Bengal.
