dekho it does nt matter ki aap kon se subject se hai.the thing matter is ki aapke subject par aapko kitna hold hai.
Civil services me mains exams ka subject aap apne hisaab se chunn skte ho so aap woh subject lo jis par aapko confidence hai ki aap kr sakte ho
but haan start reading newspaper columns and sharpen your writing skills and current affairs

Civil Services basic education eligibility criterion is graduation degree. If you study well in your graduation degree and broaden your horizen and become expert in your choice of subjects, chances of getting through in Civil Services will be high. Therefore, you must make a plan after +12 to crack Civil Service and work towards its achievement.

Any subject of your choice. Basically subject of graduation will matter the most. And also UPSC has set criteria of graduation, not specified from which subject or field. You can complete graduation in one stream of your choice and give UPSC examination in other subject. There is no problem in that. So for class 12th you can take any subject.

Hi Tanishk,
To become an IAS officer you have to appear in Civil Service Exam. The Civil Service Examination is organized by UPSC every year to recruit candidate for IAS, IPS etc.
Academic Qualification:
The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a well known college or university. You can pursue graduation in any stream. UPSC organise exams for IPS. No matter what stream is your, crack UPSC exam n be an IPS. Start your prep. read national daily. watch news channels especially DD news. cut and paste important info n news. Magazines like india today and pratiyogita darpan are also useful.
