There is no definite answer to your questions. Difficulty does not have levels. If you can understand something in education then it is not difficult otherwise everything is difficult. So better focus on what you study and learn it perfectly so that you can enjoy your education.

One year is a good time to prepare for CMAT test. Candidate should stay focused right from the day one.
As you have twelve month for the final preparation, you can divide the time into two parts:

Yes, you are eligible as the college considers the XAT and CMAT scores as well, the latter gives you a better opportunity to fetch a decent score as the level of difficulty is often on the lower side as compared to the former and CAT.

I would suggest Career Launcher/TIME are the most dignified coaching institutions when it comes to CAT/ CMAT/GMAT.
Career Launcher offers two types of course method so does TIME.
It is basically Full course or a crash course or both.
When there is a comparison done between both, it seems that TIME does not follow any fixed curriculum. Whereas, Career Launcher has its books published.
Either ways both have a strong study material.
Both institutions have flexibility in their timings but Career Launcher seems to have a personal touch.
The lectures usually are conducted on weekends in both the institutions.
If you want to have my personal

There can't be one single book. English needs a steady improvement being our Second Language. Much depends on our career needs. If we are in a competitive field, we need good English and an observation of present-day trends. So, gather your material and refresh your knowledge from time to time.

Collect all the old questions papers and analyse what type of questions are asked then start noting down the chapters one by one as per your interest. Start practicing all those chapters. Read newspaper, books and other stuff to increase your GK, vocabulary, etc. Also, read case studies for better reference.

To be honest with you, IBS is a shop not an institution, I know one candidate who was accepted by IBS, Mumbai without even completing the UG, moreover, you will probably get placed in an insurance company.
