To be considered for the B.E. / B.Tech course at Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology (CIT), applicants should have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. They should have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in these subjects (40% for reserved candidates). Applicants should also possess a valid rank in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) or the COMEDK UGET entrance test. Besides, the students who hold a Diploma in Engineering with not less than 45% marks are also allowed to enter into the second year of the B.E. / B.Tech course through lateral entry.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology (BE/ BTech) in a relevant discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate is the basic eligibility for an ME and M.Tech offered at CIT Coimbatore. However, the final selection of candidates is based on TANCET followed by counselling.
