The qualifying CAT cutoff of IIM Amritsar is the minimum percentile that candidates must score to be eligible for an interview call for WAT/GD-PI, while the final CAT cutoff is the percentile that candidates must obtain to participate in the WAT/GD-PI round. The former is released with the admission criteria of the institute before the CAT exam while the latter is released after the declaration of CAT result. A few more differences between the two are tabulated below:

There is no such provision for direct admission to any of the courses offered at IIM Amritsar along with the MBA programme. Candidates willing to take admission in the MBA programme at IIM Amirtsar must fulfil the following requirements:
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories).
- Candidates must have valid score in CAT exam based on which they will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round.
- Candidates who qualify the Personal Interview (PI) round will have to report to the admission cell at IIM Amritsar for document verification and fee paym

Yes, for admission to the executive MBA programme at IIM Amritsar, candidates must have three years of professional experience as the course is specially curated for working professionals to upskill them with trending skills and industry practices.
The executive MBA programme offered at IIM Amritsar is a hybrid programme (online + offline). For admission to the executive MBA programme, candidates must have a valid score in CAT/ GRE/ GMAT. In case candidates do not have any exam score in the aforesaid examination will have to take the IIM Amritsar Admission Test (IAAT) for admission to the eMBA programme.

Yes, for admission to the MBA programme at IIM Amritsar, candidates must secure a valid CAT percentile in both categories, i.e. overall and section-wise category which should be above the closing percentile mentioned in the cut-off list released by IIM Amritsar.
Candidates based on their CAT percentile/ score will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round. Hence, candidates aspiring to take admission to the MBA programme at IIM Amristar must prepare well for the CAT exam.
