DIT is better but then you should check other good universities that have been highly ranked by MHRD. Check some of the good private universities like LPU, SRM, VIT, etc., that have good a very good ranking and are offering various specializations in B.Tech including CSE. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of your marks in class 12. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12 or JEE

The case for Bachelors in Arts is opposite. It never went down below 75%, at least not in 2012.
This maybe primarily because, prospective engineers apply for a B.Sc course, in case they don't get a good college.

In order to seek admission in DIT University, one should have following eligibility that is a candidate should have minimum 60% marks in X standard & aggregate 60% marks in XII standard and minimum 60% in Physics Chemistry Maths English/Physics Maths Bio English/Physics Maths English Computer. On the basis of this eligibility one can register online to DIT University till 31st of May. Registered candidates will then be invited by DIT University for counselling and thereafter on the counselling day. The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination from CBSE or any other equivalent examination board with physics, chemistry and mathematics as core subjects. The candidates should also fulfill minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of the subjects.
An entrance exam may also be conducted by university for admission to their course. Alternatively, you can also opt to appear for national or state level entrance exam to secure admission in this course.
