You should go through the prospectus of the course offered by the institute to know more about admission procedure, fees, syllabus, course structure etc. Though for DU fees would be almost negligible.

Firstly, your main preference should be the marks you have to score well. In class 12th, only on this basis, you will get the college as per you. Score around 98 to 99% to get admission.

Here are some courses which have an entrance. The cutoff of BCom honors is starting from 98%. BA maths, BA economics is on a merit basis. BA mass communication, BBA has entrance. This time dU registration would start from april

Plan your studies well. Work smartly and prepare only that much what is going to come in exam. Buy previous years, solve them observe and analyses the pattern and difficulty. Note how the cut off goes. Revise your notes and study material every weekend, from start to the end.
