Yes, you can get in special rounds of seats allotment conducted by JOSSA. All the leading engineering branches can fall under the rank you obtained. Hence participate till the last round of counselling.

Is lateral entry in B.Tech 2nd year available at NIT, Durgapur?

NITs does not offer admission in B.Tech courses through lateral entry mode. The JEE-Main exam is the only way for NIT's B.Tech courses.
