You must meet the following requirements in order to be admitted to Chandigarh's Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management:
- You need to have obtained a passing grade in 10+2 with English as a required subject from a recognised higher secondary board.
- You have to clear the NCHM Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMJEE) and achieve a high rank.
- You must participate in the NCHMCT's counseling session and choose IHM Chandigarh as your preferred institution

No, you can join the Institute of Hotel Management Hyderabad directly. You are provided with admission based upon marks scored in National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination; qualify yourself for NCHMCT JEE; thus, you must appear to take admission in IHM Hyderabad.

To be eligible for the B.Sc. (Hospitality Management) course at the Institute of Hotel Management Hyderabad, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
