You can take the admission in MBA by qualifying the entrance exam held every year in the month of April organised by the AKTU and taking admission in the KIET depends on the counseling and cut-offs. It doesn't matter that you are a private or regular candidate. All you just have is a Bachelor's degree.

I would say that Taxila business school excels in placements due to the following reasons:
1) Minimum placement of Rs 12 lakhs.
2) Placement at least 6 months before the completion of course.
3) Taxila has been recently awarded for "excellence in placements" award 2017 by the education minister.

Scope, Salary and Job Opportunities:

Yes MBA in finance is a good option. This is a detailed answer.
First of all, there is not much difference in PGDM and MBA. Both are equivalent and are given same importance in industry. I have explained below what is the difference.
1. The main reason why postgraduate courses are named as PGDM is that when an Institute is an autonomous body (not affiliated to any University) and conducts management courses, then such Institutes cannot offer MBA degree. Even IIMs, XLRI's doesn't offer MBA degrees; they only give PGP Diploma.
