At Arni University, the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is calculated based on a student's performance in both Continuous Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) and the End-Semester Examination (ESE). CCA makes up 40% of the overall grade, while the ESE holds a weightage of 60%.

The CCA component consists of three parts: Classroom Attendance, Mid-Term (Minor) Tests, and Seminars/Assignments/Term Papers. Classroom Attendance is given a maximum of 10 marks, where students' attendance percentage is converted to a score out of 10. To calculate the overall score for each course, the CCA score (out of 40) and the ESE score (out of 60) are added. Then, a predefined grading scale is used to assign Grade Points (GP) based on the overall score. Each grade corresponds to a specific GP value.

The Course Credit Points (CCP) are determined for each course by multiplying the course's credit hours with the GP earned. The Total Credit Points (TCP) for the semester are the sum of all CCP for all courses taken during the semester. The Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) is then calculated by dividing TCP by the Total Credit Hours (TCH) taken in that semester.

To find the CGPA, the SGPA from each semester is multiplied by the Total Credit Hours completed in that semester, and the sum of these values is divided by the Total Credit Hours completed throughout the program.
