Yes, you can get into IIT Bhubaneswar with a rank of 600 if you belong to the General AI category. For this category, the highest acceptable rank was 894. Candidates can check the table below to know which courses are available with the attained rank.

 IIT Bhubaneswar OBC cutoff 2026 ranged from 230 in the first round to 1466 in the last round. As per this range, M.Sc. + Ph.D. in Geology turned out to be the most competitive course for admission. This course had the overall cutoff ranging between 230 and 262

Round 1 seat results were announced on June 30, 2026. The exact dates for Round 2 online counselling choice-filling and subsequent seat allotment results have not been formally notified yet at Law in University School of Law and Legal Studies - IP University.

Thapar has pretty solid BTech placements, especially for CSE, COE and related branches. A lot depends on your branch and skills, but overall the placement scene is one of the better things about Thapar.

If you have CSE at both, I'd pick Thapar. Chitkara is a decent option, especially if fees are a big factor, but Thapar has the stronger engineering reputation and overall peer group. If the fee difference isn't a major issue for you, I'd go with Thapar.
