Let us analyze BSc at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai to Mithibai or KC College on below basis:

St. Xavier's has transitioned to a Multidisciplinary Framework. The BSc syllabus is divided into several specific credit-earning categories:

  • Major (Core): The primary subject of study (e.g., Physics, Zoology, Microbiology). This forms the maximum portion of the credits.

  • Minor: A secondary subject to add more value to your degree. For example, a Geology Major can take a Minor in Chemistry.

  • Open Electives (OE): This is where "well-rounded" learning happens. Science students can pick credits from the Arts or Commerce streams, such as Psychology, Economics, or Political Science.

Yes, Banaras Hindu University accepts the NEET SS results for admission to 2 courses, namely DM and MCh. The cutoff is released in the form of ranks, not scores, for various categories that come under the All India quota. Students who want admission to the previously mentioned programmes have to appear for the NEET SS entrance exam and then sit for the counselling process to be considered for admission. Yes! St. Xavier's College, Mumbai offers a specialised BSc Economics (Honours) programme. To be eligible for this specific BSc course, students must have completed their Class 12 with Mathematics as a core subject with a minimum of 60% maks. BSc Economics at St. Xavier's College is a very popular course, so just meeting the minimum criteria is not sufficient; you must have scored high percentages to make it to the merit list.

BSc selection process at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, depends on your selected major. For General BSc programs, admission is based on your class 12 marks. For self-financed professional courses like the BSc in IT, a separate entrance test, XET, is conducted and your selection is going to depend on how you perform in the test.

To apply for St. Xavier's College BSc course, you must have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from any recognised board. For most BSc courses, it is necessary to have had a Science background at class 12 level. Minimum marks requirement for General category is 45%, while for reserved, it is 40%.
