NIT Silchar admissions 2025 are based on various national-level entrance exams. For admission to Engineering courses, students need to qualify JEE Main and GATE entrance exams. Further, for the Management and Science stream courses, the institute accepts valid scores of CAT/ CMAT/ MAT and IIT JAM, respectively. Interested candidates can apply via online mode.

Step 1: NIT Silchar Application Process

Candidates seeking admission at NIT Silchar are required to complete the application form for the course-specific entrance exam. After appearing for the respective entrance exams, candidates have to apply for the counselling process for the final seat allotment.

Step 2: Selection Rounds

For its flagship BTech course, NIT Silchar admits students with a valid JEE Main score. Candidates are allotted seats through JoSAA Counselling. NIT Silchar MTech admission is through GATE, followed by CCMT Counselling. Similarly, for MSc admission, IIT JAM and CCMN Counselling are required. However, NIT Silchar PhD admission requires you to appear in the Institution's entrance exam and PI.
