My review of this college.
Placements: The placement scenario is decent. More than 90% of students participating in the placement process get a job. It is specifically good for CSE students who landed multiple jobs with good packages. Major recruiters are Goldman Sachs, Medlife, Microsoft, Mu Sigma, Deloitte, John Dheere, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, ABB, LNT, and various PSUs. The TNP cell of the college provides summer internships for 1-2 month duration. Mostly, internships are in PSUs and some companies like Tata. Stipend internships are given only to CSE students. But we can apply ourselves for internships with a stipend.
Infrastructure: I have opted for a hostel which is compulsory in our college. I share my hostel room with a fellow colleague of mine. Rooms are quiet with a 24-hour electricity supply. There is a bed, a table, a chair, a wardrobe, and a balcony in the room. The lighting condition is also quite good. The hostel rent is Rs. 15,000 per semester.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and helpful. They are very knowledgeable and everyone did their PhD in their respective fields. They explain our doubts clearly. They explain everything and we can ask them any question without any fear. They are very friendly. There are two major exams in a semester. One is mid-semester carrying 30 marks and one end-semester carrying 50 marks. The rest 20 marks are internal out of which 10 are given on a class test and the rest 10 on assignments and attendance. Exam pressure is really not a lot. The course curriculum is good as it gives us a chance to know our interests if we have not known them yet. The first-year course contains all subjects like civil, mechanical, CS electrical, and electronics.

Placement and college life of NIT Silchar.
Placements: The top 20 students in civil engineering are selected for placement at L&T; however, due to Covid, only about 4 to 5 have been placed. Most students from all engineering branches secure positions in their respective fields, but only a few reputable IT companies participate in the placement process and recruit candidates.
Infrastructure: NIT Silchar has the largest library in Asia, and the classrooms and labs are being modernized. The Wi-Fi speed is quite good in all academic areas, although it only works in the hostel lanes. The classrooms are in a very peaceful location where students enjoy studying and exploring.
Faculty: Civil Engineering has the top facilities in terms of knowledge and experience in theoretical and practical as well. I just enjoyed the whole classes of civil engineering. Practice like surveying and soil-related are very knowledgeable and helpful in higher studies.

NIT Silchar has a large, green campus with average placements and a good atmosphere.
Placements: The college has a 92% placement rate across all branches with MNC companies. The average package is 15 LPA. Almost every student is given a chance to attend interviews, as many companies visit. However, students with backlogs are excluded. Apart from these students, most are placed.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very large, and the hostel rooms are much better than those in other colleges. There are a total of 9 boys' hostels and 4 girls' hostels. The boys-to-girls ratio is also very good, with 85% of boys having a girl. The hostel facilities are excellent, and the food served is far better than in most IITs.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful and make attendance easy. They assist you with your projects, give very few assignments, and focus on practical knowledge. They prioritize students' progress and mental health, which is why there is no mandatory 75% attendance requirement if you have a valid reason.
Other: It is the best branch of NIT Silchar.

NIT Silchar is good in placements and campus life. City life is poor, that's all.
Placements: My batch is Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, in which about 90%of students are getting placed with an average package of 15 LPA. Top recruiters are Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. The highest package is 60 LPA, and the lowest package is 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities of the hostel and the infrastructure of the Electronics and Instrumentation branch are very good, even EI is known as the coolest branch of NIT Silchar. The food quality of the hostel is above average. Canteen is good but a little bit cheaper, and vegetarians may face problems.
Faculty: Facilities at the National Institute of Technology are good. Highly qualified and knowledgeable, few faculties are among the top 2% of scientists. The course curriculum is fantastic, but the semesters are a little bit tougher than other colleges, but overall good.
Other: NIT Silchar is heaven on earth .

The college has good infrastructure.
Placements: Around 55-65, students got placed in civil engineering. The highest package was around 15 LPA in civil engineering the lowest was around 5-6 LPA and the average was 7-8 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Flipkart and Amazon for supply chain management. Around 30-40% of students got internships either on-campus and off -campus. The top roles offered were the site engineer and the management job.
Infrastructure: The quality is not top-notch but the basic facilities like clean drinking water clean washrooms and a bathroom are available, the food qualities are not too bad it can fill your stomach for the 3 times of the day and the snacks are available the canteen foods are good. For the medical facilities. We have a dispensary where basic medicine is available and for the sports. We have football and cricket grounds for the outdoor games and for the indoor games, we have a sports complex.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable but some are a little rude. The teaching qualities varies teacher to teacher but overall it a good. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and helpful in the student industry. The semester exams are not that tough, a student can pass by studying one night before the exam. The pass percentage is around 85%.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in learning more and more about the buildings. How they are built. The best thing is we can put it in our day-to-day life. I would suggest that more technical instruments should be available in the college for better learning. The events, fest, and campus crowd all are so supportive and good.

NITS- Though not the best but not even that bad.
Placements: The placement is fine and is reliable to some extent, ignoring the recession of last year. The maximum package reaches 80 LPA, with 3.5 LPA being the lowest and the average is 8 LPA. For a branch like CSE, placement is almost 100%. More than 80% of students get placed overall at NIT Silchar. The placement of core branches is a bit low but the maximum reaches above 20 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Oracle, C-DAC, L&T, Tata Projects and many more. Internship opportunities are also there and a lot of companies visit to provide interns, but the number of offers in the case of internships is, of course, negligible as compared to the number of job offers.
Infrastructure: Every piece of infrastructure required in a college is present and usable but being an old college, the buildings and all might look a bit old. Internet connectivity is available in hostels, library and labs. Hostel rooms are also nice but the food is just like any average hostel, i.e., not up to par. Sports and games can be played by the students as playgrounds and sports complexes are usable.
Faculty: Teachers are, of course, qualified and knowledgeable but many of them are unable to connect with the students, which leads to boring classes. Though a handful of great professors are also there,. The course curriculum is as per the need. Semester exams are stressful because there is no break in between. The difficulty level is moderate and the pass percentage is 96%.
Other: I chose to be a student at NIT Silchar because of its decent placement. Infrastructure and teachers teaching processes are some of the things that can be improved. There are two major events: Tecnoesis, which is a technical fest, and Incandescence, which is a cultural fest. These are the great events at the college. Many clubs and societies are there to be engaged with, thus making campus life better.

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what you can expect:

* Limited Opportunities: The college doesn't prioritize M.E./M.Tech placements, and students may find themselves competing for limited opportunities. Additionally, the course curriculum might not be industry-ready, making it challenging for students to secure jobs.
* Scholarship Availability: On the bright side, scholarships are available for M.E./M.Tech and Ph.D. students, providing some relief for tuition fees.
* Good Infrastructure: The college has excellent infrastructure, including well-equipped labs, Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, and comfortable hostel accommodations.
* Teaching Staff: Teachers are generally qualified and knowledgeable, but some students feel that they don't receive adequate industry exposure or guidance.
* Campus Life: NIT Silchar offers a vibrant campus life, with regular cultural events, festivals, and sports activities.
* Industry Exposure: Unfortunately, the college doesn't provide much scope for industry exposure, internships, or project-based learning, which might hinder students' growth and employability.

Considering these factors, while NIT Silchar may offer a good education, pursuing M.E./M.Tech without strong industry connections or placement assurances might lead to disappointment. Weigh your options carefully before making a decision.
