The Sri Balaji University is not a government university and was instead founded as a private university of Pune, Maharashtra in 1998.
The private status of the university should not detract from its reputation as a higher education institute that holds 27 years of legacy in the education industry and has since been:
- Approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
- Become a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
