The seat allotment at the university is subject to seat availability and merit of the candidate. Out of which, 70% of seats are for candidates passed from Maharashtra State Boards. Additionally, 30% seats are reserved for candidates passed from other State Boards from other states of India. The seat reservation is done as per the guidelines of the Government of Maharashtra for the candidates belonging to reserved categories from the Maharashtra state.

As per the official brochure for the NMU BSc in CS course, the intake capacity is nearly 40. Students are admitted to the programme based on the sanctioned seat intake. The selection also depends upon the candidates performance in the last qualifying examination. NMU Jalgaon offers BSc course at its main campus and through its affiliated colleges. There are over 30,000 seats for the UG programmes. However, at the main campus, the seat intake is 120. NMU then shortlist applications on the basis of applicants performance in the last qualifying exam. A merit/selection list may be published or students are informed through any other mode of communication. After final selections, students can pay the admission fee amount for seat confirmation.

North Maharashtra University is currently accepting applications for certain BSc (Hons) Electronics courses. The eligible students can visit its official website to register and apply. NMU releases its applications generally around June/Jul as per past years' data or information gathered from unofficial sources. Candidates must submit their application on or before the prescribed deadline.
