Kavayitri Bahinbai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has 200+ affiliated colleges. The university has divided its disciplines into 12 schools. Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University formerly North Maharashtra University was established in 1990 and is located in Jalgaon.

NMU Jalgaon offers BSc course at its main campus and through its affiliated colleges. There are over 30,000 seats for the UG programmes. However, at the main campus, the seat intake is 120. The seat allotment process is carried out as per the sanctioned seat intake and merit in the last qualifying exam. The seat allotment at the university is subject to seat availability and merit of the candidate. Out of which, 70% of seats are for candidates passed from Maharashtra State Boards. NMU accepts MHCET Law for admission to LLB and BA LLB. There is a low possibility of getting admission to North Maharashtra University at 40 score, as the most lenient cutoff was for BA LLB course, that closed at 40.11, for the General All India category students. Among the Home State category students, it is impossible to get admission to law courses at this score.
