Admissions to the NSU UG courses are done based on the score in Class 12 or equivalent exams. For PG course admissions, Graduation in the relevant stream is the prerequiste for applying. For MBA, BTech, PhD, and LLM, admissions are entrance-based.

IIM Ranchi offer scholarships to its students. The institute provides merit and merit-cum-means scholarships to students. Scholarship schemes for PWD and SC/ST students are also available. NIT Jamshedpur specifies the minimum aggregate and qualification required to apply for a course. The basic eligibility for UG coures is Class 12 whereas graduation is required for PG programmes. Below is course-wise NIT Jamshedpur eligibility criteria:

Yes, MCA programme at NIT Jamshedpur is a three-year (six-semester) full-time programme. National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), which is followed by central counselling is conducted for admission to MCA course.
