Government Medical College, Kozhikode, also known as Calicut Medical College, is considered a premier medical college in India. Calicut University offers distance education to students through its School of Distance Education. Formerly known as the Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education, the School of Distance Education, Calicut University was established in 1981-82. The Calicut University SDE offers 25 courses to students.
