Mahatma Gandhi University, popularly known as MG University is a state university located in the Kottayam district of Kerala. It was established in 1983. MGU Kerala is approved by UGC and has been given an A grade by NAAC. MG University has been ranked 31st among the top Universities in India with a score of 53.44. Mahatma Gandhi University offers a large number of programmes at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, MPhil and Doctoral levels through its 23 University Departments, 2 International and Inter-University Centre, 7 Inter University Centres, 10 Inter School Centres, 77 government /Aided Affiliated Colleges, 10 Autonomous Colleges, 200 Unaided Affiliated Colleges and 199 recognised Research Centres.

The University of Calicut is the largest University in Kerala. It was established in 1968 in Calicut. It is accredited with an "A" Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It is recognised by the UGC and is approved by the AICTE. Calicut University has been ranked 69 under the University category by the NIRF in 2022. The university offers UG, PG Diploma, and doctoral courses, under 35 different departments divided into nine schools, for different streams, such as Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce, and Management, among others. The competition is very high hence prepare for the entrance exams in advance.
