Yes, the admission in JCCL is done on the basis of merit of the candidate as determined by the performance in the Maharashtra CET Law examination, followed by the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). .

50% seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC and other categories. Out of other 50% part, one-third seats are reserved for girls.
Consider the example of first-year B.Tech or BE:
There are 63 seats for the first year:
3 seats are reserved for TFWS students (Tuition fees Wavier Scheme).
30 seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC and other.
10 seats are reserved for girls.
So, for General Open category there are 20 seats for each branch of B.Tech/BE.
