Yes, it is considered one of the top three NITs. NITK is the only one, which has the funds for research area with top seven IITs. According to the place, it is better because it has a private beach. You can see the current in the sea from your class itself and professors are also well educated.

Mining in NIT RKL is good. You can even opt for chemical or mining. I would rather suggest mining seeing it's opportunities. With 97.62, you stand a chance of getting into one.

You cannot apply because to pursue MBA in NIT, you need to have B.Tech background. You can try for MA in development studies.
