It all accounts to one thing, don't expect an average placement of more than 3.5-4 Lacs. There were some of the companies that visited campus during the year 2017. Ample of opportunities are available nowadays especially in Computer Science. Industry is looking for younger generation with good algorithm design skills. The student must possess the good at technical and communication skills. One must have the idea of Machine Learning, Data Science and algorithms basics for today's job market. Wish you all the best.

Hi, Thapar University has excellent placements in all branches. As you ask specifically for EC/CS, the package is really good. On average a student gets around 5-6 lakh packages, highest is around 35 lakh. Both mass recruiters and product-based companies visit here.

Hi Hartej,
The average package for students is around INR. 4 to INR. 5 Lacs. The highest salary can go up to INR. 12 Lacs. Yes, Amazon and Flipkart come here, but Microsoft does not come here.

In my knowledge, the maximum package from on campus placement has been about INR 6.5 LPA. Although, people have gone for higher packages in the off campus placement. What eventually matters is the ability rather than the college. Their past recruiters include, TCS, Wipro, LAVA, L&T, Prisma and many more. Many of us almuni are working in leading IT companies including Microsoft India, Infosys.
